Mrs. Ray and Mrs Williams invite you to enjoy a good read in the Media CenterOur vision is to develop in our students the academic skills and character necessary for success in high school, college, the work force, and life. Mann's Media Center strives to support the mission and goals of Horace Mann Magnet. We exist to provide instructional support and information resources that enable our students to achieve academic success. We encourage a love of reading for both pleasure and information. We are committed to the principles of information literacy for all students as outlined by National Education Technology Standards for Teachers and Students . Mann's media staff endorses a policy of inclusion in its collection development efforts i.e, diversity of ideas, multi-culturalism, and freedom of speech and thought based on the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

    1. Our collection is unbiased and includes examples of cultures and beliefs from a perspective that is inclusive of the many students, families, and teachers in our school
    2. We exist as the information and resource hub of the school
    3. We are committed to promoting reading for pleasure and provide student requests for materials
    4. We are committed to provision of assistance with respect to collaborative technologies for teachers and students

Each week the media center will post a Wordle that's associated with a popular book. See if you can guess what this week's Wordle book is! If you know what it is, visit Mrs. Ray in the Media Center. The first five students win a prize!
